Inspired by the beautiful wall of stained glass that adorns the entry way of South Canyon Lutheran Church, my hand-tufted version of the “Window of Creation” serves to bring life and color to the fellowship hall, where folks of all ages can observe and feel the art of the church, and experience the book of Genesis in color and texture.
I spent many evenings sharing delicious food and sharing wonderful stories with so many terrific people in the very same fellowship hall that this rug calls home. While my grandfather’s gift with woodworking decorates the sanctuary and many corridors of the church, an eleven-year-old me would have never imagined having the opportunity to display my work alongside his in our place of worship. Thank you to my grandmother, who so graciously covered the expenses and labor needed for the creation of the rug as a donation to the church.
